Google, your favourite internet search engine, provides the answer for your question. And it is free. It is Google Insight for search, a google portal where you can see what people are searching for in google search engine.

Now lets look at the google insight for search. You can leave all fields blank or with default values, simply click on "Search" and it will show you the worldwide top searches, along with the rising searches. If you want to narrow down you can filter your research by Categories, period, location, and even search type (ie web search, image search, news, and product search).

Drupal Facebook Connect Module

Drupal as the best website/blog content management system (CMS) is now found its way to talk with facebook.com, the most active social networking websites. Integration of drupal powered website/blog with facebook is mainly to allow visitors to log in to a site using a Facebook account. It means that users can access a Drupal-powered website using their Facebook username (emaila address) and password. Just like OpenId, this is helpful that users do not need to register with a drupal website.

Facebook is constantly working in expanding their footprint beyond the social networking services. In early December 2009, Facebook announce a new feature for developers. The feature is called Facebook Connect, released and announced on the blog on 4th December 2009.

Drupal modules are now available to support the integration between drupal website/blog and facebook. At least, there are Drupal Facebook Connect and Drupal for Facebook Modules already developed independently and fortunately, both can do the authentication with Facebook.

Google Adsense now supports Western Union Payment

Google Adsense on 07 February 2009 has announced the launch of a new method of payment for the publisher of Indonesia.

New payment methods are Western Union Quick Cash, expressed as a method of rapid, easy, and especially Free!

This is certainly good news, especially because this method of payment with google adsense checks sent through the post is very-very classic and requires a long time.

Microblogging (or Micro-Blogging) is nothing but just another form of blogging. The term "Micro" emphasizes that it allows only a brief texts or short messages to be posted or broadcasted. In addition, microblogging entries can be submitted on websites as well as over mobile services like SMS, MMS or Instant Messaging.

Wikipedia describes micro-blogging as:

Micro-blogging or Twittering is a form of multimedia blogging that allows users to send brief text updates (say, 140 characters or fewer) or micromedia such as photos or audio clips and publish them, either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user. These messages can be submitted by a variety of means, including text messaging, instant messaging, email, MP3 or the web.

Plurk, Twitter, Identica, Tumblelog, Jaiku, and Sideblog are now the top microblogging services. However, some leading social networking websites like Facebook, MySpace, and LinkedIn also provides microblogging feature which is known as status updates.

Immediacy and portability are the keys of microblogging. The small size posts can be submitted and read on a variety of devices from personal computer with broadband internet connection to a mobile phone with slow wireless data connection.

Although some microblogging services are now support multimedia content such as photos, audio or video clips, most of the broadcasts are posted in text. And as in traditional blogging, microblogging allows users to subscribes and get updated on other people's microblog. Short comments on a person to person level are also supported on some microblogging platforms.

For those who run websites and start getting bored with the legacy comment system provided by CMS, the Disquss comment system might be worth to try. Disquss is an "out-of-the-box" comment system, works with multiple websites/blogs, enhances and interconnecting the discussions/comments accross community.

Disqus, pronounced "discuss", is a service and tool for web comments and discussions. The Disqus comment system can be plugged into any website, blog, or application. Disqus makes commenting easier and more interactive, while connecting websites and commenters across a thriving discussion community.

Disqus is a free service to the general public with absolutely no inline advertisements. A premium service for large-scale websites is in the works but is not yet available.(from:disqus.com)

The disqus comment system can be integrated into blogs/websites made with WordPress, MovableType, Tumblr, Blogger, and TypePad. Integtration of disquss into other CMS/platforms are also applicable, by using a general code snippet or API. Some other CMSs like drupal, b2evolution, Grafitti, and Joomla also provide modules/plugins to enable integration with disqus system.

Will search engines index disqus comments?

Blog comments usually creates more permalink to be indexed by search engines. For blogger or webmaster who expects visitor's comments to be indexed by search engine, there is a disqus plugin for self-hosted blogs.
